Howdy,

I have an old Polar HRM on my stationary bike - it's called the Pacer, and it's been chugging along for about 6-7 years now! - and I'm looking for a similar model for my road bike. Similar, except I'd like it to have a stop watch displayed along with the heart rate one the main screen .

It seems that Polar goes from the "Beat" model (just the heart rate, nothing else) up to models that have hi-lo thresholds, beeps, multiple lap times, calories burned (useless info, IMHO), and other bells and whistles that I really don't want or need.

So, my question is: Do any of you know of a model (doen't have to be Polar) that you strap on and it displays - on ONE screen - your continuous HR and the elapsed time???

Thanks for your input.

Jim

Hi,
Sark has a lot of different monitors. He had charts of features on the
various models. You might want to consider an 'out of zone' alarm; it can be easy to zoom out of the zone you want to be in and not notice.

I just acquired a Sigma Sport pc3 that does that, and pretty much nothing else (well, ok, it's a got a clock). Mine's non-functional, but this might be what you're looking for. I think they can be found for $25-$30 or so.

I just got an almost-new Polar M31 on ebay.de for about $45. It does what you said and a little more. I also like the simultaneous display of HR and elapsed time and did not have this feature on my old Polar A3.

This Polar model has what you're looking for, plus the basic bike computer functions:

Polar S-150 (http://amos.shop.com/amos/cc/main/ccn_search/st/polar%20s150/sy/productsx/ccsyn/260/prd/16931443/ccsid/324490879-24055/adtg/02060523)

The display has 3 separate lines of information that you can set to show whatever you want.

But if all you really want is stopwatch and heart rate, the Polar M32 (http://www.polarusa.com/consumer/fitness/model/M32.asp) will suffice. Since the prices are comparable, I suggest the S-150.
