Road Cycling - My hopes are dashed

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well, I talked to the shop owner a little while ago, and he had talked to the owner of the Appalachian. $2400 was his bottom dollar and he also said the more he talked to him the more he is thinking of just keeping it. The new bike he's building is strictly road. Even had the wife convinced already. I'm now going off to mope around for a while.:(

Fraid' so. Guess I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up so high. Thought I really had a deal going there.
Guess I'll call around Monday and see what I can find. I know there's nothing in Columbia though. Have to call St. Louis or KC.
But now I wanted that Litespeed!!!!! :)

Keep your eyes peeled. Something'll turn up! Heck, I got my Classic/Ultegra for $2K new!, (well, unused... '99 model purchased at the end of '00). Colorado Cyclist (http://www.coloradocyclist.com) is asking $1900 just for the frame! (But their page is worth a visit just for the mtn. biker. ;))

What a bummer! Sorry to hear the bad news. Going back to the drawing board however holds potential for a better bike at a better price - you just never know.
Sorry to hear the bad news DG.

I know what you're feeling. I ate, drank, and slept Litespeed for over 6 months until my wife felt sorry for me :) and bought one for me last spring.
Aren't wives wonderful?!
