Foo - Larry the Cable Guy

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Do you think he's funny, or does he offend you?
I can't help it, the guy's funny to me

(Yawn) "Flyover-state humor". :D Seriously, I don't have anything against "low-brow" humor, like Three Stooges, Americas Funniest Home Videos and people getting hit in the groin. I like some of it, and hate some of it. I think "There's Something About Mary" is potty humor at it's finest, whereas I HATE "Blue Collar TV". The line is pretty subjective, though. I think old Larry reminds me too much of a lot of the morons I've worked construction with, that only talk about Nascar, fishin' racist junk and women's body parts. The kind that melt upon contact with books. Maybe this is a "negative stereotype", but it's one that's true too often for comfort. Ugh, I'm wandering away from what I'm trying to say. Basically: Farts can be VERY VERY FUNNY. When Larry does it, it ain't funny.

I haven't seen that much of the guy, just about 20 minutes worth on the Comedy Channel.
He had a few comments about edible underwear and so on...couldn't help but laugh.
Then Ron WHite I think his name was did some jokes which weren't too bad.

I will say I haven't looked at his standup routine, just that ABOMINATION "Blue-Collar TV." I like "Reno 911" though! :D
Ha! Funny you should ask... on Comedy Central TONIGHT 8pm (Eastern)... Blue Collar Comedy Tour Part 2. Same four morons, same redneck yuck's
Actually I like those guys... and kinda feel sorry for Larry. Musta bumped his head when he was a lil un.
Kris, how dare you utter the name of the trinity in the same breath much less same thought as the moniker 'low-brow'? Team Fine/Howard were they greatest thing to happen to comedy since, since.... since..... since the beginning of time! Phhhhhhhtttttt! :p

My point in mentioning the Stooges was not to dis them, but simply to point out that noncomplex, proletarian comedy isn't a new thing. I like them myself. Shoot, Jerry Lewis and Jim Carrey weren't always considered geniuses!
he'll be on blue coller comedy tour rides again tonight @ 9 or 8 i dont remember.... Get 'r done
edit: i need to learn to read threads before posting

A matter of fact I'll be seeing Ron White (another Blue Collar Comedy Tour member) in Boston on February 26 :D :D
I find Larry the Cable Guy to be a riot, some of his acts are a little bit odd but funny nonetheless.

I like him, lowbrow or not. I haven't seen Blue Collar TV, but I do have his 'Lord, I Apologise' album. He's got some of the funniest metaphors since JJJs The Sandman. eg. 'more frustrated than a three legged dog trying to bury a turd on an icy lake.' The letters from toddlers bit is good too.
On the offence scale, Larry's pretty tame. I like how he adds a touch of the surreal, which I think observational humour needs to avoid getting too boring and predictable (such as that practiced by Blue Collar comrades Foxworthy and Engvall)
If you get the comedy channel, I believe the standup acts are being repeated tonight...Larry's comedy is self deprecating and non offensive, He's a lot funnier than I thought he'd be.

I like Ron White much better, but Larry can be pretty funny at times. I really don't like the Blue Collar Comedy hour, and I'm blue collar :D
Love him or hate him Larry is laughing all the way to the bank. I found the first blue collar comedy tour to be hilarious. The second one was kind of a repeat.

Whenever I watch those Blue Collar Comedy guys, I find myself laughing out loud. Some of their jokes I don't like much, but most I find hilarious, especially the redneck jokes (I live in hillbilly heaven in east Texas).

Comedy Central had was running standup by Ron White, Jeff Foxworthy, and Larry the Cable Guy one night. I'm from Mississippi, my girlfriend is from Wisconsin, and my roommate is from India. We all sort of chuckled through it until we got to Larry the Cable Guy, and then I had to start translating -- for BOTH of them! It was hilarious; neither one could understand a word he was saying, and I was laughing so hard I was crying at the jokes AND at my friends.
That's the best way to appreciate his humor...

he performed here a week ago at the arena where I work and I thought he was funny. we got to meet him before the show and he seems like a real normal guy except he is "on"all the time.the kind of person who is always laughing and cutting jokes..all the time! him and his crew got along great and everyone was happy and having a good time doing what they were doing. he did alot of new jokes. my favorite was about the jose cuervo(spelling?) sponsered nascar.the crew forgot to unhook the landscape trailer and there was a rake loose in turn three. didnt get the response it might have had in a bigger town but I thought it was funny
