Foo - Anyone ever used Match.com?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I created a profile, but don't know if it would be worth registering.
I'd like to start dating again though.

Yeah, I guess... a 6 month membership is about what I'd pay for a new set of tires.

I met my fiance through them, and my son met his wife there. It seems to work sometimes!

Thought about it--then I realized my wife would put a hard smackdown on me.

I think my mom met her boyfriend on there.
I registered but can't really afford the subscription right now. HOwever, I've gotten a few responses. It was good for my ego, i have to confess.

Jamie marks the first "attractive" person I have seen on the net besides myself.
Her aside, everybody else has been a bold face liar.

I thought that's what bike clubs were for (which is why I have been avoiding them).

I don't understand. Your avoiding your local bike club due to what? Men/women be there and hitting on you? Or your afraid of going on a ride and comnig across a guy/girl you may like?

I like to futs about with tickle.com (formerly emode.com) if nothin else they have a lot of goofy tests to waste time on. The results of some are listed on your profile(optional) including several IQ and personality tests. there is also a section of the site that is just clubs/groups sorted by interest(similar idea to yahoo groups) that also allows you to network(whoop dee do)

Plus I'm a MTB kid of girl. I spend enough time around guys as an engineering student. The roadies I have met just haven't impressed me. Look at the number of fashion topics in the road forum  . Look at the # of roadies here that have to resort to the internet to get a date :D .

If a bike is old enough to be the previous generations pre-car bike and its been made into a cyclocross type bike, does that mean I like riding crossdressers my dad's age?

Since you are coming fom Chapel Hill, I believe that to be an understatement
I'm sure there are some nice people hiding out somewhere, the town is just so infested that it's not worth my time to go hunting (and I'm not just talking about bikers).
Speaing of hunting, my brother got a NRA shirt and I got a beanie. We wanted to see who would get flipped off (or have someone freak) first. I won :). You gotta find some way to have fun around here. My roommate isn't religious, but I think I got her to pray. I told her that if my parents died I would inherit part of the family shotgun and rifle collection.

A lady in my office met her fiance on match.com. She has been with the guy for a few years and seems very happy. It can't hurt.. You just have to be picky and if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is..

That is so funny to me. Living in the triangle you do hear a lot of CH jokes. Some of the people around here amaze me.
Yeah, Chapel Hill is a world apart. Guess I shouldn't complain too much because there are a few MTB trails in town.
Maybe I should write a book about my experiences. I think I could fill one, and I have only been living here 1 1/2 years. Today I met a yuppie walking the wrong way IN THE BIKE LANE of the MUP. The paths have 3 sections here. Peds, other way, way I was going. If that wasn't bad enough, she had a minischnauzer and no poop bag. But she remembered to put on her sunglasses and athletic shorts.
ON the way back from the store, I met another woman that was walking the wrong way in the bike path on the side of the road. There is a sidewalk and absolutely no need to walk on the bike path.

Well, sadly, it looks like it will be all up to you. If your town only draws the non-impressive....wait, if you live there as well, are you too one of them? Where are you from orginally? How about getting over yourself and put down the walls. You will be sure to find a good guy amongst the necks somewhere.
