I just spent spur of the moment spent 90 bucks on a lightly used set of Sugino 75's, sans ring. I thought i was gonna get em for 70 but it never works out like that. My campy road cranks just weren't cuttin in and it was a complete spur of the moment buy. Think i paid too much?

Also, are 75's ISO taper, or am i gonna have to get a new bottom bracket (its a miche now, which is fine with the campy's)

If you are satisfied with the condition they are in then I would say it is a good deal. I think the cheapest I have seen them new is $135 (no chainring).

QBP used to supply shimano sealed BB's with build kits that have sugino 75s, but now they supply and recommend the sugino spindle with free ball BBs. the shop i work at called quality and asked about it and they say that the taper of the spindle is slightly different between the shimano and the sugino and that the sugino spindle works better.

So what was up wiith the campy cranks?

They are 170's, and when i'm really hammering i can definately feel some flex, and i weigh like maybe 145. I also was having to run the ring on the inside of the spider, which is really no big deal, but still annoying.

I guess i'll just have to see if they fit once i get them. If i need to get a cheap MORE compatible sealed bottom bracket, will those Shimano ones work?

Sugino 75s will work with the std UN52/72 cheap Shimano BBs. Most of the bikes that come with them Rush, KHS all use (or used to) Shimano BBs and are generally problem free. AS noted there is a small difference in taper but I think you really have to abuse the arms to have problems.

They're great cranks and even at 90 USD, you've still got good value-for-money. Price new, as someone mentioned is around 150 bucks for just the arms, 200 bucks with a ring. Second hand they go for all kinds of weird prices, from 30 bucks up, but more typically around 100 USD for a set. If they're lightly used then you didn't really 'overpay'.

From your LBS they can run a lot more.

They're great stiff cranks, I love mine. Pretty much have zero flex.
