Wow! I just finished my first ever brick. I rode 12 miles on my trainer, hopped off and changed shoes, then out of the garage and off to a 2 mile quick run. I know people say these are hard to incorprate into workouts, but I really liked it. Maybe it was the fact that my legs wre totally warm for my run. I actually ran a little faster pace than I usually run my normal 5 mile run in. I thought I would be slower. Just wanted to let everyone know how my training was going so far this year. This is my plan for the next couple of months:
Monday - weights/core
Tuesday - bike/run brick
Wednesday - weights/core
Thursday - bike/run brick
Friday - weights/core
Saturday - longer run
Sunday - longer bike
As soon as it gets warm enough, I will start swimming again. I was swimming 1 mile at a time in a pool until it got too cold in the fall. I have not swam(?) since. I am training for my forst sprint distance on May 1st. Depending on how that goes, I will schedule some more races (maybe longer distances if it is easy).
I am excited!!! I just can't forget my family, my full-time job and oh yeah, school...
