I picked up two bikes this summer at a yard sale for $25, one Raleigh 1974 racer and a road bike that had no decals. Under closer inspection the decals had all been painted over to make the frame solid black. After removing the paint I found out that the bike was a Peugeot Corbier, and from looking online I am guessing it was made somewhere around 1984-1988. Does anyone know anymore about this model? I am guessing it is on the low end of the Peugeot line, I don't care about its worth - just curious.

Thanks.

I've got a corbier frame in the basement. Entry level bike, 103 Carbolite tubing. I believe mine is an 84 model. Model also known as a P4, if I am reading the remains of the serial number tag properly. Mine is likewise black. The threading is English, making upgrades easier. As I recall, the stock rims were steel.

My impression is the Corbier would make your basic errand runner/beater bike/fixed gear conversion and serve you well. My idea was to keep it as replacement for a beater fixie I have in case the beater fixie is stolen. Replace the steel rims if you intend to make the bike a rider-- it will improve your braking.

Mine cost 5$; I really don't think the bike has any huge value but could serve a rider well as a utility bike. No shame there; I have a couple of such bikes, and they serve their purpose well.
