Anyone have an idea what a framebuilder might charge to do this?
Brazing is not expensive, they will charge you on an hourly rate plus the parts. The job will involve prep work, grinding off paint and clean, and then brazing would be done next. I guess it would be a bit less than an hour to do, lot of shops will have a minimum shop rate. If you have them paint, you'll need to add that on too.
I had some braze work done a few years ago in C,Springs, Old Town Bike Shop, John Crandell helped me with it. You might also call Barnett School for advise or referal.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, Shifty. That helped alot! I might get a deal on a sweet mtb frame, but it is disc only...and I want to run v-brakes.
