i am in the process of perfecting my MTB fit. I spend most of my time on the road, which is why I'm posting in this forum. Now, when I tuck down for aero efficiency, I can't see anything except the road below my bike. If I want to look forward in this position, I have to roll my eyes to the top of my head, and still I can barely see. I feel like either I'm going to have to sit more upright or I'll have to somehow mess up my eye muscles so I can see with my head all the way down. My first question is... is this normal? Is riding blind something all roadies eventually learn to live with? Second, do you think increasing the cockpit length may help alleviate this problem? I currently have a 75mm stem, and max reccomended is 100 mm.

If you aren't racing all the time, like on training rides, you shouldn't really worry about "aero efficiency", ride in a comfortable position and don't worry if you're going 0.1 mph slower than you would be in an "aero-position" that would be more difficult and uncomfortable to ride in.
