Had to have some alignment work done on the guzzler so I tossed the DF in the back (can't fit the LWB in, its only drawback) and rode home from the shop where I left it. Ouch! Hands, arms, neck and butt (no, these are not in a vertical sequence) hurt after only a mile or so. This, from a bike I have ridden over 8,000 miles. Had no idea how much I had adapted to the comfort of the recumbent. Rember that old saw about riding a bike? Once you have done it, you'll never forget? Well, it's not true. Your body quickly forgets how much discomfort is involved in the noble persute of cycling. I had kept it with the idea that sometime I would ride it again. Well, I did, and now I am done.

I can't stand riding my DF bike since I got used to a lwb recumbent. The comfort difference is so huge I can't understand why there aren't more of them out there. I give rave reviews to all who ask, but none seem to buy. It must be the price. bk

I can empathise with that. I spent half of yesterday just tootling up and down a local road to tune up (and get used to riding) my new Mistral. Just before it got dark I got our my mountain bike and rode up the same stretch of road. Oh dear oh dear: doesn't this feel odd, uncomfortable, and such hard work :eek:
