Introductions - Hi from California’s Central Valley (read: land of bad air, but good trails)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am VERY new to MTB. Have not ridden a bike since I was in Jr. High School. I am a transplant out of Omaha, Nebraska (Go Big Red!) Currently I call Fresno home. I am hoping to get in to biking as something fun to do with my husband and it offers cardiovascular conditioning. I just bought a Trek 4500 (silver and red) I am hoping to get in to some light trail riding, and if I don’t wuss out on the light trails I hope to hit some harder ones. If you know the area I am planning on heading up to Millerton Lake this weekend. I was told they have a good light trail. Then I am hoping to build to Bass Lakes 007. If any of you guys have any advise on any of these trails let me know! In addition I am going camping over Memorial Day weekend up to Shaver Lake so if you know of any good trails in that area drop me a line!
