Books, Movies, Music & Entertainment - Chicagoans- Anybody have a copy of Quicksilver you want to let me borrow

Hey all. I've been trying to see Quicksilver, starring Bac-o-bits, for the last couple months now, but no Blockbusters have it and no one sells it. Does anyone have a copy you want to let me borrow. I can lend out Breaking Away, American Flyers, or RAD if you're into cheesy cycling movies. Send me a PM if you can help me out.

I've been going through the same thing! The guy at my LBS who built-up my first fixie told me that I HAVE to see that movie, but I can't find it. I'm hesitant to buy it since some of the reviews have panned it. Amazon.com sells it, though. If you find a great deal, please post it. Thanks.

i really don't understand why there are people out there that don't have a netflix account.

it's just so wonderful. i can be watching jacques tati one night, then being john malkovitch (or quicksilver) the next night. so wonderful.

You could probably rent that at any non mainstream (Blockbuster etc) place. At least you can here. Heck even Blockbuster might have that one, I wouldn't know never been to a blockbuster, to bright inside.

Man, I've wanted to see that movie for a while too (and I'm in Chicago), maybe there should be a Chicago Quicksilver meetup, haha.

Its in blockbusters database, thats for sure. Its just a matter of checking which locations stock it.

speaking of videos, I have 2 that were due back yesterday... I better return those.

I checked a few of the independent video rental places and they have no idea what quicksilver is (they know who kevin bacon is though)

Can't find it on canadas blockbuster site. And rogers video says they have no copies in Ontario. Good game to them.

I'm tellin' you guys, I looked all over for it. I think the problem is, it's just not that good of a movie. I still want to see it though. My last two chances are to buy or to borrow.

I too had trouble finding it at ANY local video stores. I finally had to sheepishly inquire . No luck locally, but I eventually bought a copy on Ebay for $1. I forgot that Louie Anderson was in that flick.

That's what I thought. I posted one of these in the "movies" section and got no responses. I figured since fixed riders are probably a little obsessed, like me, I would get some response to the Quicksilver question here. I was right. I'm not alone. YEAH!

oh man, came across this looking for pics from the movie for my avatar.... I came across it in a used video/music pawn shop maybe 3-4 years ago.... I had never heard of it, I cherish my copy and always look in thrift store etc so see if I can find another copy.. that and of north shore.
