what do i need to change from 9 speed 2 8 is it just the casset and shifters or is it all like the 3 rings on the front and mechs

New Freewheel, New Shifters

8 speed can use the same Chain and Freehub as a 9 speed . the same can not be saif if going from 8 speed to 9 speed .

Because an 8 speed chain is wider than a 9. The 9 will work on an 8 but it won't work the other way
