Getting ready to purchase new Ultegra front derailleur for a 2004 TREK 2300 (complete buildup). My choices are:

- 31.8/ 28.6 mm

- 34.9

- braze on

Can anyone help me with the right size?

The size refers to the diameter of the clamp that goes around your seat tube, a quick measurment should reveal the answer. Unless of course the frame is equipped with braze-ons for the FD (I looked at the pic on Trek's website and couldn't really tell) then your choice would be the latter.
