Any fans out there? I think it is my favorite show! Calamity Jane is pricelesss!
I love this show too along with Carnival, Six Feet Under, ok I'm just addicted to HBO on Sunday nights.
Deadwood is interesting though, I have to wonder if they really spoke to eachother like that back in the day. All those words of choice.
yup carnivale is another of my favs. I can't imagine that c-s and m-f were coined then.....I guess it is loosely based on real characters, more than wild bill and jane...
I have to laugh every episode!

I'm dl'ing Deadwood now. Since we on the topic of pay channel tv series...
I'm so FRIGGIN' PISSED OFF -- I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY CANCELED Dead Like Me. That was one of my all time favorite shows ever from any network, any decade. The friggin' president of Showtime didn't like it. What a #%$%@#$^!
Being new to the paytv world, I'm unfamiliar with 'Dead Like Me.' I am still lamenting the demise of 'Angel,' though.

if you get a chance, watch it, it's brilliant... http://www.tvtome.com/DeadLikeMe/
while they only did 30 episodes and there's no "final" one, that's okay cuz the storyline developed enough that you won't feel confused at the end, just wanting more. Another network may pick it up.
The cast is brilliant and come on, anything Mandy Patinkin has to be amazing, yeah?

...ok I'm just addicted to HBO on Sunday nights.
I only watch a few TV shows on a regular basis, but Sunday night belongs to Boston Legal. I bust a rib watching that show.

Deadwood: first series I watched every episode, from pilot to finale, since Twin Peaks.
I have since canceled my movie channels, and go with NetFlix.
Now that I know Deadwood is great, I'll probably just buy the DVD at season's end.
Besides, looks like I'll be watching a lot of OLN this spring and summer, and plenty of DVR stuff to keep me busy into the fall...
LO. Boston Legal thats on Sundays????

He's only mostly dead, (bellows here)
I'm currently hooked on Carnivale.
I seriously doubt that language was as colourful
as in deadwood, but I do like the series.
I also like The Wire, a show where the good guys have
serious faults, they don't always win and when it's over
its over. (sort of).
Sopranos is getting tedious, and I'm tired of waiting for new
episodes.
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
One of my all time favourite movies.
Warning: Obscene language in this post, but then if you like Deadwood, it probably doesn't bother you.

I love the mix of fould language and the old proper sounding english.

Somebody has got to be hugely bored and having too much time on their hands.

I'd sooner try skateboarding than watch that abomination of a show. Sure I love the cussing and obscenities but that show just sucks.
Had to revive this thread.
I love this show. Swearengen is becoming my favorite, right up there with Calamity Jane.
Its suprising to me that 5 of the nine writers are female. The show has also won a Peabody award.
Deadwood rocks! But now my whiskey drinking Sundays have come to an end.
We were trying to do a shot everytime c*ks^ker was uttered...but then we had to switch to a whiskey sip for each word.

David Milch says they hav tried to be as true to the time/era as possible. Seems c***s****r was a big word in the day.
How much are you guys paying to watch that?
It's free for me...roomie was directv.

One enterprising website did a fcuk count calculating the shows FPM rate and finding a high of 121 of them per 50 minute episode
I look forward to Al's ramblings to the "chief" or whichever particular whor* is servicing him.
Sunday nights are now going to suc.

13.99 a month includes:
Real Time with Bill Maher
Six feet under
Deadwood
and all HBO movies, looking forward to Empire Falls. Outstanding cast, at least 3 oscar winners.
Hey Lala, any way you can combine these two threads? I revived the one before I read the other.
Yup...I'd been thinkin of just that thing.

damn - this is one show I actually do miss...thanks for the salt.
Sad to say it Lala, but I haven't been able to watch Deadwood for a couple of weeks, I'll have to wait when they have one of their marathon days.
