fancy pants braided (?) wrap

does anyone know how this is done? is it actually just braided? anyone have any experiences? links? anything?

I've never done it myself, but I've read somewhere about how to do it. Basically, you take two contrasting colors of bar wrap, start at the top of the bar, and wrap them in opposite directions overlapping the colors. I'm thinking that one of the stretchier bar wraps would probably give the best result. Actually, the directions that I read said to use Benotto wrap so that gives you an idea of how long it's been since I read the directions. When's the last time that you saw Benotto bar tape?

i was thinking tresso cloth...that seems like it would work well. so it's two rolls rather than three, right?

I'd say best bet is to get two tape measures or webbing or similar and test different patterns on some tube or bars untill you get it right. Looks cool.

it can be done with standard bar tape, 2 rolls each side.
