The Norco seems to have better components over the Haro. If I were looking at both these bikes I'd go for the Norco because it has, better fork, better brakes and better rims. However it is a little below par when it comes to the drive train.

Translated into non AOLese that would read as: "Sorry, I'm new. What does AOLese mean?"
U, sry, ne1, are all forms of AOLese

That's right and I'd work on your spelling a bit too. It's not as critical, but if you want to be taken seriously you need to do your best not to sound like you failed elementary school English class.

Another vote for the Norco, based purely on the parts spec. The frames are more than likely pretty similar in build/quality, so go for the better components/fork.

r the forks really better?......they r just 130 mozocchis.....

nebnebneb
02-23-05, 01:28 AM

It's a quality thing, not quantity. What's 10mm of more travel do for you, if it's crappy travel?

I'll take 120mm of Marzocchi travel over 130mm of SR Suntour anyday.

EIther fork is on the low end of things, but the Marzocchi is at the very least going to last longer.

02-23-05, 02:18 AM
i supose....but i have riden both and the hydrolic dampeners give the duro's a really nice feel.........and the mozocchis r a little squichy and springy

in that case, get what feels better, and which bike fit you better size wise.

you hadn't mentioned that you'd ridden both before, so how would we know?

the SR fork may feel better now, but the Marzocchi will still likely last/work better in the long run.

at this pricepoint, neither fork is oging to be a super performing thing.

good point, i get what u mean i no marzocchi is a well made brand and duro...well they have been around for ages but i have never seen them doing higher tech stuff.... i just wanted to know what other people thought....

when u reply remember to keep in mind that by buying the haro i save 250 dollars

scrublover

See, this, and the fact that you've already ridden them would have helped those of us trying to give advice, had you mentioned it in your first post. The more info you give us, the more we can help you.

Saving $250? Not bad. But you'll still be getting less bike. The Norco still appears to be the better of the two.

Decide how much you are willing to spend total, and stick with that.

Remember, you get what you pay for.

I like norco's. I'll go with a norco. And while you're out, get something called a "Dictionary". Here is one of them:

Norco builds strong frames that last long and they use good components. Go with the Bigfoot.

yes, im a haro escape 8.1 rider. i have the 2004, if it was the 2004 i would say get the haro, but i looked at getting the 2005 8.1 and it didnt have good compnents such as the 2004. norco is looking better, only cause of what it comes with...but if you can find a 2004 haro anywhere, look at that...its pretty sick
