How's this bike compared to others within this price range like the kona stuff?

MTBR revewier says the rear shock is a POS and is way to bobby, but witha a replacement would be a good bike, but after the replacement shock it would be equivelent to a kona so......

There was no "last years model" for the Bruiser 3. It's a new release.

The Kona Stuff has issues such as the JackSh!t pedals and grips that aren't very good, the spikes can break off easily and the grips are a pain when wet. Other than that its good for the price and its cheaper by a few bucks. The new Brusier 3 looks pretty sturdy but I can't really say because it just came out. O ya..... the kona stuff also has had rim bending problems but im not sure if they've attempted to fix all of these problems, and Im not gonna rag on Kona because their bikes are well built and sturdy for the price. I haven't been a trek fan because my LBS has told me that they're not as strong as some other brands like Kona, Norco, Haro, etc.... and they're slightly over priced.
