Commuting - Wireless Cycle Computers Vs Bar mount Lights

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am on the hunt for a shielding solution that allows my wireless computer to function when my lights are switched on. I have a Nite Rider Pro-12E with a function controller that when it (the light) is switched on my computer ceases to function. I am considering up grading the computer to the Shimano Flight Deck but to the wired model to remedy the signal problem, but if some one has a neat solution I would much rather save my money and keep the cheaper computer.

I read in another forum a complaint with the wireless Flight Deck computer suffering the same interference but they didn't solve the problem either.

Thanks,
Steve

Could you use one of those extension bars to move the computer a good 6-8" away from the headlight???

I use the wireless model seen here. (http://www.filzer.com/catalog.html) I also have the afore mentioned extention bar, but I also have a light on the bar right next to the computer. No problems so far! Performance sells this particular one and it's pretty reasonbly priced. The 4-lines-per-screen is really nice as you only have 2 screens to see all the info you need.
