I went out this evening and followed what I call the Old Cutler route. Its about a 22.5 mile loop that starts from our house and follows US1 under the Miami Metro Rail which has a paved trail. There is a section where you have to skip over to the sidewalk :( on US1 for about a mile, then there is a nice straight paved bike trail on the West side of US1 that goes down pretty far. I cut over on Howard Drive and go east until I hit Old Cutler Road which is pretty scenic if you like looking at rich peoples' houses. But there is a bike/walking path that takes you most of the way back to US1 in Coral Gables. This ride seems longer than the Key Biscayne ride where I go out about 15 miles, then backtrack back home.
I set up a new page in my Cycling the Americas Route Section (http://cyclingtheamericas.org/Route.html) to display my Florida Training Routes (http://cyclingtheamericas.org/Route/Florida/Florida.html). I've put up the Old Cutler and the Key Biscayne routes and I plan on adding an Everglades route that I was doing in January as well as showing my South Florida tour route I plan on doing some time next week.
