Introductions - Hi I'm Rich

I'm Rich, 52, I have a 'bent (Rans Rocket) and a folder (Montague CX). I've also ordered another folder, a Dahon Helios SL.
I alternate between the 'bent and the Montague every other day, usually easy cruising on the Rocket, "hard day" on the Montague, which I use on the road and non-technical off-road. The Montague's a nice sturdy bike but it's a bit heavy and slow (fat tires) and doesn't fold too compactly for use on transit. The Dahon is for going faster, road only, and for taking on transit (our local light rail in San Jose, CA). I have been known to go faster on the Rocket on club rides, and I've even used it in time trials.
Some days I also ride the Montague to town where I meet my wife and bum a ride home with her, so it's good to be able to pitch it in the trunk. You have to take the front wheel off the Montague to do this, so it'll be easier when I get the dahon

I haven't tried this as a pickup line. My wife already knows I'm not rich, so it wouldn't work on her, and she for some reason disapproves of me trying pickup lines on other women.
If I were really rich, not in name only, I'd 1st upgrade my own "fleet". A Lightspeed, Bacchetta Aero, and Ti-Rush maybe? If I hadn't blown all the money on that there might be some left over for Raiyn's grant.

Hi Brian. I considered the Tailwind before I got my Rocket. I rented a Tailwind once from Recument Central in Phoenix when visitting my brother, and got to take it out for a long ride on Phoenix's cool canal trails. This was the 1st 'bent I ever rode that didn't give me recumbutt. After a couple of hours I took a break to eat my lunch, and just put my feet on the ground continuing to use the Tailwind's seat :) . I wouldn't want to try that on an upright. The Tailwind's a cool bike. I could have gone either way with my choice.

Being so nutso about bikes that I have 3 of them is a bit of an embarassment for me, especially when I try to explain it to my wife (ok so you need the recumbent because your neck bothers you if you ride an upright for too long, and you need a folder so you can take it on transit or put it in the trunk. Now tell me again why you need the 3rd one?)

No need to explain. I have the tandem for the wife and me, The Cannondale XC race bike, the flyweight XC bike, the custom FS, and now a 24" BMX. What woman wouldn't be happy knowing her partner is in the shed tinkering instead of at the pub?
