That's almost impossible to determine without actually mounting them. I found that not all brake bosses are spaced equally apart depending on your frame. For example, my XT V-brakes mount nice and flush on my Dean frame while on my Kona they tend to flare out no matter how I rearrange those tiny cone spacers. Size of tire do not seem to matter much either. Hope this helps.

I agree the tire size does not matter. It is the mounting position and rim width. I tried Shimano XT on my GT with a Sun Rhyno Lite rim. They stuck out so far that my heels hit them. I put on Avid Single Digit 7s and they are great. They are more powerful than the XTs also.

Isn't it more an issue of rim size (width), not tyre?
