Who makes the BEST cycling shorts with the best padding?

I want to further invest in protecting my boys!

My cycling shorts are decent but I want the tops for my bottom!

Let me know!

i have a pair of castellis that i absolutely love.
the problem is i got 'em at a clearance place, and they're $135 new, which i just can't do for shorts.

i've only ridden on a drome twice & both
times I wore my pearl izumi ultrasensor
shorts which rule. I like them better than
my Assos which cost almost 3 times as
much. The microsensors cost more, and
are marginally better.

yonderboy, you're talking about the the vt shorts right?
have you worn them before?

Yeah, those are the ones. I haven't worn them before, but they're cheaper than the Performance shorts, so I was willing to give them a go.

well, the ones i have are the y2 progetto's, and they're truly awesome.
i'm willing to give these other ones a shot.

I recommend bibs - there lot more comfy than shorts.

On the track ... skinsuits rule. Both for aero effect and for comfort and support. Join a club and get a Voler or equivalent skinsuit. I am paying about $75 each for mine with the better chamois and they last until I crash them.

Are you doing a 6 day race? Your drome races are usually so short that you don't exactly need a top shelf pad. I love the new Castellis with the YPro3 pad... but its overkill. Best advise was join a club and wear a skin suit.

I have a pair of Pearl Ultrasensor bibs that are wonderful. A pair of Louis that compare as well. They both have heat seamed chamois and 8+ panel construction, wonderful for the multihour fixed ride so they should be plenty comfy for even timetrail in the velodrome.

Castelli

If your on a track get a skinsuit, unless your after that lost roadie look.

my Craft bibs are the most comfortable cycling shorts/bibs i've worn. if i'm going on any sort of long ride i grab those over my castelli's, pi's, or cannondales.
