First of all, did my commute to school, to work, and back today. About 20 miles total, although mostly up and down. Not too hard.

I have a four-point mount rear rack (not exactly, it is a rather old model and I had to ziptie the two seatstay mounts to the frame). My question is...what is the best way to put my shoulderbag onto the rack? Right now, I put it under the spring "hatch", and wrap a bungie cord around it. It still has a little play to it. Any suggestions?

I bungied my bag to a rack for awhile, some years ago. I realized that a pannier that hooks to the rack is a big help. Goes on the left side.

- less likely to fall off
- lower center of gravity is a real advantage for handling
- marginally more elegant than something bungied

Mate, Get those zip ties off that rack!!! When you load it up
you are likely to loose the load or wreck when the rack comes loose.
You should be able to find "P" clips at most farm, auto or hardware
store that will allow a good strong mechanical fastening of the rack.
