I went the the lbs and found a bike with my name written all over it. The specialized rockhopper comp disk. I was originally going to go after the hardrock but I like the rockhopper better. The front fork is a Manitou splice. I have never even heard of that model, is it good/bad? I am going back tomorrow to buy the darn thing. I wanted to sleep on it but I dont think there is much of a need.

no no no. I am not looking for info on the rockhopper. There is stuff about the rockhopper in every few posts. I am looking to see if anybody has the splice and what they think of it. I have done a search and I didnt find what I was looking for.

I'm no fan of Manipoo (do a search using that term  ) It should be fine initially, but I'd think eventual upgrade. It's not a turd like a RST, but I personally wouldn't run it.
This may have been the nicest thing I've ever said about a Manipoo

Do you do most of your riding around this area? If yes, You should be fine with this fork. It's relatively flat with the occasional rolling hills here. Where are you buying it? Post your rig when you get a chance.
