why might my 722 feel cramped now that ive been riding my fuji a lot? i feel like im riding a baby bike now.
from the seatpost to the bars (c-c measured) is actually longer by about 35mm on the 722 even though the stem is 10mm shorter than the one on the fuji
theres about 100mm of drop from the top of the seat to the top of the bars, whereas the fuji is basically level and still feels longer and more "droppy"
my position looks mostly the same on both :/

I agree the two positions look close, but I like ypur position on the Fuji rather more. Riding on the hoods or in the drops on the Fuji will have your upper arms roughly at ninety degrees to your torso, whereas it is an acute angle on the 722 and yes, you do look slightly cramped on the latter with your head right over the stem despite being in a fairly upright position.
Try a longer stem? More setback?

If you've been riding on the hoods on the Fuji that would account for the difference in reach. The bars on the Fuji also look like they have more overall reach on the tops compared to the other, which look really compact to me. I'm a dolt - I'm guessing the 722 is fixed and that would account for no brakes?

im glad someone else can see it @chasm54 (http://www.bikeforums.net/member.php?u=195034) - im definitely going to try a longer stem as soon as i can get my hands on one, the setback is perfect after i got a zero setback for my short legs
i do spend a lot of time on the hoods megalowmatt but it does feel shorter even comparing both bikes on the flats/tops. i do think it has to do with the reach, since when i go into the drops on the 722 it feels even stranger and not like i went much of anywhere. the difference in drop between both bars is only 2mm but the reach is 120 vs 75mm
and yes fixed, they both are actually but the fuji has a 3 speed fixed hub and is my lazy commuting oldman bike (that i strangely take on centuries and climbs)
