Foo - Gmail question

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I am fooling around with gmail and i know like o yahoo you can make sub topics for your inbox, like family, bicycling etc.

I haven't looked around at gmail a lot, but I know on the left side of the screen, about halfway down, they have a link for "Labels".

If anyone wants an invite, I've got about 100. Just send me an email if you want one. mattvolp@gmail.com

You don't actually put emails in the labels, you assign a label to an email. Then you can choose to view just those messages that have the relevant label assigned by clicking the link on the left side of the screen. The convenience is basically the same, but the principle behind it is slightly different.
To label an email, you have to create a label ("Edit Labels" on the left side of the screen). Then select the checkbox for the appropriate email, go to the "More Actions" dropdown menu, and select the label you want. I believe you can also apply multiple labels to one email, but I'm not positive.
Just noticed recently my number of invites has jumped to 50. I guess they're getting pretty close to making it an open service.
