Hi All,

I am sure most of you have heard of the Aids Rides. Well planned rides to raise money for aids. I have gotten the brochures in the mail to join in the ride. Its seems that the same company that organizes the aids rides also is in charge of planning the Breast Cancer walks for chairity etc.
Well according to the lastest news the company that plans these events is making a very handsome profit. As it turns out they are under investigation for only giving around 30 cents on the dollar raised to charity. In some states they have given as little as 10-16 cents on the dollar ! As reported many people with this company are becoming millionaries at the bikers and walkers expense. The guide line on charities is to give approx 65 cents out of every dollar raised. Makes me wonder about the MS 150 rides....wonder how much they are giving ??

For the most part, the MS society, the Muscular Dystrophy association, the Heart association, etc., do not use organizations to run their fundraisers. Palotta Teamworks actually seems to plan the Aids rides first, then finds small reseach groups willing to put their names on the event. Large charities would never associate themselves with the likes of Dan Palotta and his charity rip-off. (BTW, the amount returned from last year's Palotta Teamworks rides was only 22%, not 30%)

Most advocacy groups have great sounding names and goals. However, they use other peoples hard work and money to achieve their own(personal) financial success. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.
