Training & Nutrition - recovery from strep throat

Would anybody have experience recoverying from strep throat? I went to the doctor after second day of sore thoat and being tired. I rode for the first time after 8 days of antibiotics and my heartrate ran 25-30 bpm higher than normal. At the 3hr 30 min mark of my ride I had had enough. This is not at all normal for me. I'm used to 7 hr-15hrs a week and my long days being 3-5 hrs. How long will it take till I feel back to normal? Thanks

Antibiotics jack up blood pressure in a lot of people. I only take them in worst case scenarioes because they give me spontaneous bloody noses, if that tells you anything.

jeez!! 3.5 hrs after a nasty throat infection? wow.

From my experience, it can vary greatly.

how bad was the throat? Did you have a temperature?

I can sometimes feel perfect after a week and a half followng a cold or a throat infecction, then other times it can be 2 or 3 weeks -- with the rare occasion taking a month.

I've recently read that oregano oil is the latest hippy cure-all supplement (:rolleyes:)), especially for sore throats.

531 Aussie: My throat was only red, no white puss or anything and it did not hurt that bad only a mild soreness. No temperature.

I'm all out of doctoring.:)
