Hey-
This is a fairly basic question, but here it goes. I am looking to replace the brake cables on my MTB. I have XTR V-brakes. My question is: When you replace the cables, is replacing the housing considered part of the same job? In other words, when I replace the cables, do I necessarily have to replace the housing if it looks clean enough and isn't torn or frayed? Another question I had was whether or not the brand of housing makes a big difference. Right now, I have Jagwire housings. I would most likely be replacing them with the Shimano housing that came with the brakes. Will I notice any huge difference in braking performance based on the housings?
