Classic & Vintage - Schwinn World Traveller

I have a chance to buy a early 70's Schwinn World Traveller, but I don't know much about the bike. Were these quality bikes back in the day? I hear alot about the old Parmounts, but I've never heard of this bike. Any low-down from somebody in the know would be appreciated.

I had a 1980 Schwinn Traveller. Brand new was $210. It was one of the best bikes
I ever owned. What I liked about it was it had one of the smoothest rides I ever experienced. I mean it was like riding on air, quiet and effortless. It was very light, maybe 21 or 23 pounds I think.
Sun tour deraillers, if I remember.
I put hundreds and hundreds of miles on it.
Someone stole it, In fact they stole it, the cable, the lock, and a part of the wall it was attached to in the garage!

I have a Schwinn World Traveler I purchased in 1972. I rode this bike when I was going to college in Champaign/ Urbana, Illinois It was very dependable then and is still very good bicycle. I would say you would probably enjoy riding the bicycle if it is in good shape. Mine is in excellent condition. Hope this helps you. Enjoy and God Bless.

It would be considered a Japanese built Varsity. Quality, but low-priced quality.
