I've been trying to start commuting every day of the week. It's been a difficult goal, but I'm working towards it. The longest stretch to date's been 4 days in a row.
Anyone here counting?

That's my eventual goal, to be able to ride everyday, if I want to.
But I live 14 miles away from work. :(

It's a great ride, but after three days in a row, I'm wasted.

If I could discipline myself and get up early so I could ride slowly...

I leave 12.5 miles away and 3 in a row is about it for me too. I've done 4 a number of times but found it starts to seem like work rather than fun.

My previous commute was 10 mi. one way, which I would frequently extend, and I found I rarely commuted every day. It would always seem to be 4 out of 5, or 5 out of 6 days because of something or other came up, or sometimes I needed the rest.

That was with riding on my days off too, usually longer rides of up to 50-60 miles.

You really have to make sure you eat and sleep properly, when you're going at it day after day.

Five days a week, almost every week. My ride's 19-20km (12 miles) It's been a few weeks since I took the train. Even if I'm feeling crappy in the morning, I still prefer to ride. I've found bailing out and taking the train just means I stay feeling crappy all day, whereas riding seems to lift me out of it.

For a while there a couple of years ago I was working five and a half days a week, so I was riding to work and back 6 times a week, but I wasn't commuting quite as far then. Riding is always my first choice. I have to really work hard to convince myself to take the train, so I hardly ever do.

I busted my bike last year and had to take the train every day for a couple of weeks. It nearly drove me loopy.

Two years ago I was riding everyday for my commute, a 14 miler one way, and I'd extend every other day, using the days I just did 28 as a "rest" day.
I've wanted to get back to that sort of riding, and it is still too early to do it everyday. My job is a straight six miles, but I don't feel "right" just doing six, so I'm doing at least 10.
I also get "loopy" when I don't ride a lot.

My commute is 9 miles inbound/13-20+ going home. I ride it every day. A few weeks ago, for the first time in over a year, I was forced to get a ride home because the wind was gusting to 60 mph making riding impossible. I know because I tried. After getting nearly blown over in the first 50 meters I cried "Uncle!" and turned back. When I first started I took about 6 weeks to work up to commuting every day - 2 days the first week, then 3 for a couple of weeks, then 4, etc.. Now I can't imagine commuting any other way. Of course, I don't have to worry about snow or extreme cold like those of you up north.

I do all 5 days frequently; I went one 4-month stretch last year of exclusively commuting by bike. Once I got back into some kind of reasonable shape, two 13-mile rides a day didn't seem to be particularly taxing.

When I miss days it's because it's both cold and rainy, or I have to drive to an offsite appointment, or some other logistical problem.

When I started back into regular commuting a couple of years ago I didn't expect it to be this easy, to be honest.

My commute is a 13-15 mile trip in. I have done both ways for a whole week, but generally I do both ways two or three times a week, and catch the train home the other days, or if the weathers grotty, just cycle to the station both ways. Sometimes I'll extend the ride one way up to about 20 miles.

I try not to feel guilty when I catch the train...

My commute is only 4 mi. each way. I gave my car to my brother back in February, so biking is really my only choice. It was hard at first, but I really enjoy it now.

I only take the bus when it snows or is extremely cold and windy (but it's Colorado - we don't get snow :) )

My workday commute is 6mi each way, unless I start to ride longer for the fun of it. ;) I usually ride little on Saturdays, and a 40-60mi ride on Sunday afternoons. I commute Monday-Friday to work and park in front of my desk. (Let's see 'um park their BMWs in front of their desks!)

I'm like Pete. My ride is 14+ miles and three days kills me, so I put a "rest" day in between the days I ride.

my commute's 10km (6.25miles) one way so i go by bike almost every day.

usually i take 2-3 days a week off for either special circumstances (going somewhere with my girlfriend directly from work) or because i need a rest from the bike - last week i was overtrained from my mountain bike training rides with lots of vertical (i had over 4000m or 12000ft vertical in one week)...

Hi,

I had a full month commuting in April until I got pegged by a car on the 30th (sigh) Looks like it's gonna be about 2 months off the bike until my broken clavicle heals up.

Wear a helmet! (duh)

ride safely,
tt

I am on the bubble today. I don't work everyday, but have commuted without a break for 2 weeks now. I don't want to be a fair weather fan, but there are little bolts of lightening on the forcast icon for tomorrow.

I ride to work 5 days most weeks, 19+ miles each way. I find it very relaxing, I'm 47 years old and on the 150 year plan.
