You can tell your wife, Z says a man needs, at minimum, six and 1/2 bikes. One for trail riding, one for riding in bad weather, a vintage 3-speed for cruising through town and doing errands, a randonneur for long distance touring, a really fine bicycle for going on rides, #6 for a project to keep you off the street and out of trouble - especially when the weather is too bad for even riding bike #2, and the 1/2 of a tandem for spending time with your favorite girl (that would be her - and the other half of the tandem counts as hers). Go forth, and assert yourself, and if that fails, start bringing home project rowboats. If she objects to that, pose the natural question - "Would you rather I have rowboats, or bicycles?"

That's what my dad said when he bought me my first bike - a 24" Royce Union - and skipped the 20" size. On my first solo ride down the side walk I did a face plant and broke my front tooth. 40 years later that tooth is finally worn down enough that it doesn't look broken anymore. Thanks, dad!!

Very comfy looking seat. By the way, you know that devil guy who always shows up during theTour de France? This is one of his bicycles. It might be in th Guiness Book of Records, as I recall.

Nah. I'll give her the choice between cars and bikes. I only suggested rowboats because he lives in New England. :rolleyes:
