I love this picture. Imagine if you were the guy in the red helmet. Because I would definetly be in the long white sleeves!
Dude. I am the internet genius!

It's not that hard... Do you have it as a link or do you need to upload it?
he's got Lighweight wheels on the bike, probably just flew over the guy on the ground. Insane pic though, great moment captured.

I enjoy this one as well. I think this one is from the Home Depot Center Velodrome at last December's world cup. That is one long slide! I did it two times out here at the Blaine Velodrome. Worst part about wooden 'dromes are the splinters. I had one about 1ft long last summer. Ouch....and then the burn in the shower....oh that first shower!

Is the tire on that black bike being ripped right off the rim? I can't figure out where that phantom tire is from!
Also check out how much the bianchi's front wheel is flexing! crazy

yeah, looks like he rolled his tire.
if you look closely you can see that it goes between the fork and the wheel.

it's probably not getting pulled off from the crash, so much as it rolled off, and that made everyone else crash. someone got fired for that, i'm sure...

That second old-skool track crash looks staged. Way too many smiles for a real crash...

Come on, dude. This is like a skate video that gets you all amped up to go out and hit the street. I guess we're into the requisite 2nd-half-of-the-video-nut-plants.

Makes me want to watch the DVD that came with my mtb grips - there's a part with a flowriding comp where a transition collapses just as a guy is about to drop onto it and just ends up doing like 22 feet to flat and says hello to his top tube with his nuts.
I'm going to be a bitter cranky ******* and ask :
Why is this still in SS/Fix? Shouldn't it have been moved to the Track forum already? Where's a mod when you need em? Doesn't the Track section need more threads?
Yer all a bunch of sadists wanting to see people's nuts getting smashed.
Or maybe I'm just insane. Not sure which.
Oh, and getting up to the drome this year is on my list of things to cross off this year. Anyone willing to give me and my Bianchi a ride so I don't have to ride 40 miles or whatever it is before I hit the track, only to ride another 40 home?

Ouch!!!
The faceplant that redfooj posted... did that guy die? Looks like he broke his neck.
WTF? Are people actually listening to anything I say? That would be a big mistake..

What? Don't give up! There are peoplle who drive from Minneapolis to Blaine every week. You've gotta get your booty out there and get into it.
I'm sure you could get a ride, with a little foot work. Maybe you need to network a little more, follow the leads, question some of the older roadie locals... Email the track director (Bob Williams) bwilliams@nscsports.org to get more contacts... Sounds like the National Sports Center Velodrome is improving their programming this year- Wednesday night developmental program, womens' only clinic May 11. Racing starts 2 weeks earlier than it does down here so you might as well make the most of it. Dedicate!
Oh Blaine! What a cool track to ride... I'm planning on coming up once (at least!) this summer. I hope to see you there. And ready to roll!
(edit) Oh- I see you said "on my list of... cross off". I guess I first read it as- "cross off of my list"...
Anyway, I meant- Great!

And people say that you can't get your feet out of toe-straps :D
That guy has unclipped and is perfectly safe :p
The second "crash" is obviously staged.

Thanks for the leads. I tend to stay pretty far away from the roadie crowd, and don't network much. I built the track bike back up yesterday, but found out that my rear wheel is so far out of true that I can't ride it. Sad. I should probably get back to my inept attempts at truing it, or I won't be able to go anywhere tomorrow....

Hey Jeremy,
I plan on going up to Blaine to give it a try. I've got a '04 Pista on hold at oneonone. I'll probably end up putting $300 more into it for track-specific wheels and other do-dads. Shoot, I might as well splurge since I'm working again and have no kids.
My gf will probably take me out there weekly if she gets the okay on a vehicle loan from mom and dad. You can car-pool with us if it works out. No drinking, though.
Plan B states that if that doesn't work out, I will car pool with Zak from Penn CYcle. Either way, I'm REally excited about giving this race season a chance.
