Want to know your opinion on bike that I am going tu buy. Here is the use that I am going to do:

Pull a Chariot Trailer. The trailer is to carry a child. Rides would be between 40 and 70km a day when used with trailer..

Use this bike to go to work (75km return trip)

I will put fenders and panniers.

Loads ? I don't need to carry heavy loads, just extra clothes, food, etc.

In the city or not ? Most of the time, bike will not be use in the city. Mostly use in the suburbs on paved roads.

Terrain ? Some hills but mainly flat terrain

Budget ? No budget for now. Just would like to know according to my needs, what would fit best

Distances ? During the week when I work, I will use to bike to go to work and the return trip is 75km. During weekends, I will use the bike and carrier to go on daily trip with my daughter and distances with the carrier will vary between 40 and 70km.

What are possible bikes in:

Giant
Specilaized
Trek
Cannondale
Kona

In the above choice, which one would you buy ?

Thanks

I would test ride and get what fits best.

Well, since you are riding longer distances you probably want something more efficient than a hybrid or mountaon bike.

I would suggest a touring bike or a road bike.

40 to 75km with a child can make for a cranky child. I'd recommend a touring bike by either Trek or Cannondale.

Nope. Usually just makes them sleepy. Kids love being out and about with their parents, especially when they are the age that fits in a trailer. When they get to be teenagers all bets are off.

Yeah, I can understand that a teenager would be kinda cranky after being stuffed in a trailer and pulled around for 70 km. ;)

I don't know. Some black curtains, loud music and lot of dirty cloths and they might just be as happy as at home ;) 'Course that the level of happiness at home is nothing to write about. :D

If you have a good LBS that sells Cannondale look at their touring models or Sport Road models.
