Is anyone out there familiar with the Trail Gator tow bar. My husband and I are very interested in buying one but I haven't found any reviews yet. We like the fact that you can tow or our daughter can ride by herself at any time.

Hoping for some good input on this product.

There is one drawback to the TrailGator that has kept me from buying one: your child has a brake! SOunds good at first, but you don't want her to brake at a bad time and wreck the whole rig.

To me, the brake isn't the worst problem of this setup. After all, if the child insists on braking, his/her weight and poor brakes vs yours means he/she has no chance of braking effectively.

On the other hand, the major sore point of the Trail Gator is in the stability of the attachment to the head tube of the child's bike. I have seen a precious few where the attachment seemed OK and stable, but for most of the bicycles I saw, the child's bicycle was 15-25 degrees off vertical. So it might work for a short ride, but would become very tiring and irritating after 50-60 km, let alone 100 km.
