Anybody know a good internet source for shimano specs... I need measurements since I am replacing components on an older specialized frameset. I tried their website but no dice. Is there a spec list kept by a bike shop or builder out there somewhere, or is there a page in Shimano,s website I am missing.......thanks I,m looking particularly for widths of rear hubs and cassettes and so forth. I don,t know why the manufacturers don,t include this upfront in their product spec sheets.

Shimano deals with customers through their dealers. Period.

SC,
Look back at the archives for this forum (Bicycle Mechanics) by clicking the numbers at the bottom of the page that lists all the threads. About a year ago Hunter posted a link to a website with exploded drawings of Shimano components. It may have been called "Check this out" of something to that effect. Look for a thread started by Hunter. Meanwhile you could ask about specific components you may have in mind, and some of us my be able to advise.
Regards,
Raymond

thanks for the reply. I looked it up in Hunter,s members info ( a prolific poster) and I found what I think you were referring to. It was in the thread between catsweat,(and no I am not making this up!) and Hunter about ' rear axle in 2 pieces' The website was Shimanos European site and there was also some Specialized info in the same threads as well....Thanks a lot.............................I think it was on 3-4 of Hunter,s post page (as of today.)
