Hey guys,

I'm in London now from Aus with my touring bike. I had bike plans but they've all been thrown into disarray, namely by it being far too cold to camp as I'd planned. At the moment I want to get to a friend in Cardiff or Swansea from London. I've got about a week and I'd like to ride there. I don't have the internet time or resources here to research this properly so hopefully you guys can help me out - is there a cycle route out of London (i think I remember something about along the Thames)? What would be a good way to get to my destination. This will be my first ride so my fitness is low and I'll have about 6 days to get there - doable?

Appreciated,

Mat

First thing to do is to buy a map and you will see that the A4 goes from London to Bristol from where you cross the Severn and take the A48 to Cardiff. Easily doable in the time you have.

See this site for the Sustrans cycle route No4 the Severn and Thames cycle route:

Pretty level as quite a bit of it follows canal towpaths.

You should be able to get all these from Stanfords

Am I to assume this is an attempt at humour?
