I'll have to wait for the dvd, but Tartan did a good job with the dvd release of Doppleganger so I'm sure Oldboy will follow suit.

Has this thing made it to the theaters yet?

I think it will be running as a limited release here soon. If you're in a city with a diverse theater/film selection, you should be good to go.
If not, a DVD purchase would be the next best thing (If you've got an all-region player)
