Bicycle Mechanics - dirt resistant lubricants

I'm looking for a lubricant that somewhat resists dirt and grime. I know it won't stop the crud from accumulating on my bike (much as we would all like :) ) ... Are finish line products any good? In particular the dry lube, which is better spray or sqeeze?
Is dry lube really any better than wet lube or is it a purely cosmetic thing?

I use finishline all the time. The wet lube attracts more dirt, but doesn't wash off. The dry lube goes on wet, then dries, so it doesn't attract as much dirt. But will wash off, in rain or puddles. The spray is easiest, but you have a lot of waste in overspray. If you ride in all types of weather, the wet would stay on better. Or you just need to reapply dry after every ride. You can try the krytech or any self-cleaning type of lube. Some riders swear by it, I haven't had much experience with it.
Since I'm a fair-weather rider I use the dry. And mountain biking through creeks and slop, just means you clean your chain and gears after your rides.

I don't mean to be sarcastic, but discussions about chain lubes on a bike forum are as common as discussions about the weather in small-town diners.

You'd get a heaping helping of opinions if you searched--both this forum and Google--with keywords like bicycle, chain lubricant, etc.

People love what they love. There are lots of good ones out there. My $0.02 has always been: ask the local wrench at your local bike shop what they like (they're likely to ride in the same conditions as you do), stick with it, and keep your drivetrain at least pretty clean.

I've asked 5 different mechanics in 3 different shops in my area and each one recommends a different lube ;) (which confirms that people love what the love and there are lots of good ones)

I switched from Pro Lube to Pedro's dry lube. I find with the later, I rarely have to do anymore than wipe down my chain and re-lube it. With the wet lube, I had to do an extensive weekly chain cleaning, running it through a chain cleaner.

I went to my lbs last night and had a quick peruse at all the lubes they had... wet, dry, spray, squeeze, shiny label, jumbo pack... I asked the guy there and he recommended Finish Line KryTech wax lubricant. So of course I bought it, and lucky me it was the shiny label ;)

I'm sorry if my post implied that. That's not what I meant. It's just that there are countless threads about lubrication and you might get better information seeing what's already been posted than to start a new thread where people's enthusiasm for participation isn't what it once was ;)
