I got my baron finally, though I've not been able to ride it at all. I got extremely sick last week and can't breathe well so it's sitting and waiting in all it's shiny silvery goodness for me to take it out and ride it.
Got a question though. How do you haul it? I've got a nice bike hitck designed for 4 bikes, but the baron doesn't have an obvious way to strap it down. It fits in the trunk with both wheels and the pedals removed, but that's not much of an option when it comes to long trips where I want to carry luggage as well - like a hundred I'm planning on riding in two weeks. Any tips/thoughts?

I carry mine in my pick-em-up. I stand it up and (with a rag to pad it) wedge the chainring into a front corner of the cap, then sit the bike diagonally just enough that the back wheel is against the tailgate. Then I bungee it in place. Lowracer uses a minivan and straps it to one side. You're right, options are more limited for carrying a Baron vs a regular bike. For outside carrying, you can use a fork mount roof rack (may need a longer-than-normal tray) or something like a Sportworks hitch rack. Don't forget to take the foam seat pad off before you hit the highway!

You could also do a roof rack with front fork mount. Its pretty easy to extend the rear tray with a scrap of sheet metal. just take off the front wheel and seat pad.

Oh, and I feel your pain, aikigreg! I came down with the flu on Sunday and I'm still not back to normal.

Three letters: S-U-V.
Without having to even drop a wheel, my silver Baron slips right inside the Acura.
I've also used a Stealth rack to transport my Lynx (same manufacturer and similar in size to a Baron) and a BikeE at the same time without removing seats.

Looking at the bike last night I got to thinking I may be able to take the seat off and use one of those booms made for chick's bikes and then hang it like a normal bike off my hitch rack. I'm gonna go buy one today and give it a try.
Now I've got to figure out how to put a water bottle mount, or prefereably hang a camelbak from it!
re: water bottle/camelback:
Do you know these people (http://www.fastbacksystem.com/entrypage.html)?
Envious, waiting on my new Rotator Tiger ... due next month ...

Yep, that's what to get. I got the Fastback LS from Dana at Bent Up Cycles (http://bentupcycles.com/site/intro.cfm) Note: the Fastback system doesn't include a bladder. Get a 100oz bladder for it. I can fit the bladder and a Road Morph pump both inside the pack.

I replied in the mechanics link. easy one though. your chain is too short. need some more links. get a chain tool. been there done that.

Do you and the previous owner have the same x-seam? Where abouts do you live anyhow?
I have no idea if we've the same X-seam or not. It must be close though, given the short ride I had I was fairly comfortable. I'm certain I could use some big help in getting it adjusted though. I doubt we're anywhere near each other - I'm in Fort Worth Texas.
At the moment, I'd just like to get to actually ride the thing and have it work. Then I'll worry about adjustments. I'm putting the wheel back on tonight and give it another try. If I can find a baron owner around, maybe he'll help me with some stuff.
