I'm considering buying a Carradice Shopper pannier for commuting, shopping, carrying my tennis stuff (including racquet!). My bike is a Bianchi Volpe.

Anyone have experience with this particular pannier and can tell me if I need any extra support to keep it secure on the bike, above and beyond the fasteners it comes with?

Thanks!

Flash,
The Carradice Shopper looks to be about the same size as the Arkel UBP so it should be big enough. Even with all the nice things I said about the UBP I must also say that I don't see how you can go wrong with Carradice. Their quality and reputation are impeccable, AND their bags are waterproof. The Carradice bag does cost considerably more than the Arkel, but it is probably worth it. I am not familiar with the Carradice suspension system so I can't comment on that. The Carradice bag has the extra advantage of being mountable on either side of the bike whereas the UBP will only mount on the left.

Raymond

Raymond,

Thanks. I went ahead and bought the UBP from Arkel. It looks to be exactly what I need. Thank you for addressing the tennis racquet issue directly (in the following thread)...
