Hello all,
I am looking to purchase a Marin BearValley SE ( I think it is a 97 model) that a friend of mine wants to sell. It has LX rear and AVID V's. That is all I know at the moment as I don't have a full spec. The bike is mint but 5 years old (obviously !!)
Anyway, the asking price is £200.
Do you think that's the going rate ??
Thanks very much people !!

I'm not familiar with the bike in question. Personally I'd consider a steel framed MTB that old but would be wary of aluminium (although at that price if the frame did fail, you could put the bits on a new frame). One think to check if you want to replace the forks with modern suspension forks you might have problems with frame geometry. £200 certainly doesn't sound bad if it's in good nick, but not knowing the bike I couldn't tell you whether it's a steal.

Cheers Richard,
I think I'll go for it -- not the best of bikes but as long as it moves thats the main thing.
Will check out the frame (for forks) though - probably rattle off an e-mail to Marin.
Thanks again,
Rusty
