I love winter riding as much as kissing an old lady with a moustache, but I do it because I NEED to ride daily. I'm tired of the extra twenty minutes getting prepped for my ride. I'm tired of the salt being sprayed on me. I'm tired of the extra dark mornings because of daylight savings. BRING ON SPRING!!! Has anyone also noticed how lousy (at least in the northeast) the roads become this time of year? It's nothing short of a minefield out there!!!

It's sucking here in Virginia. Snow on the ground and ice in the birdbath. GAK!

I know where it lives. Not too far from me. Give me the reward money, and i'll go shoot that shadow seeking little %&*#!

there is just something wrong about snow in the forecast this far into march. Looks like we (here in NYC at least) won't be out of the 40's any time soon.

I remember a couple years ago we got about 6 inches of snow in April. It sucked.

Winter is pretty much over here. (knock on wood) My morning rides are now right around freezing and the studded tires are gathering dust in the garage. I think they have seen there last action until next Winter.

Take that, Winter!!!! I did not let you stop me again this year. I rode virtually every day, averaging around 20 miles per day, despite you giving me your best!!! ;)

"Feels like" 20, wo0t! One hour ride, max for me in these temps. But it feels good to hear everyone who sees me say I'm crazy. :D

I hate winter. I can not stand cold weather at all. It's been in the 30's here and I really can barely stand to be out in it. I'm a total puss about cold weather. I want the DC summer- 95 degrees F and 95% humidity. Yesterday I have honestly never wanted to not go outside more than I did. I went out and went ~8 miles as fast as I could. I hate tights, toe warmers, winter gloves, ear warmers, Under Armour shirts, vests, and all of it. Winter is killing me here, someone send help.

I draw the line at weather below 25, the minute I start moving the wind I generate just makes it seem like its zero degrees out. I know there is clothing that will make it possible but I just don't have the cash. I kind of enjoy riding in the winter when there is still snow on the ground (not the roads) makes me feel hardcore since I never see anyone else out in my area and I was out for 3 plus hours Saturday.

Having said that winter needs to go, I had some big mileage planned this weekend and if it snows I will be screwed. I don't even mind riding in the snow but people are such horrible drivers I am nervous about someone skidding out or something and whacking me.

ONe of the biggest misconceptions about winter cycling is that it is uncomfortable and/or you have to be "hardcore." Sure some cycling specific winter clothing helps but you can do it on the cheap as well, with some study.

I have ridden thousands of miles this winter, in ice, snow, sub zero windchills, you name it. I only remember being uncomfortable once and that was because of a miscalculation on my part. (had to relearn that you can't have exposed flesh in 0 F windchills.)

Well, you could be stuck in a perpetual Groundhog's Day loop and forced to live the same day over and over.... :p

Did we really have to bring my ex-girlfriend(s) into the discussion?
