Bicycle Mechanics - has anyone tried this specialized tire?

I wanted a smaller tire then the 1.5” I have on my bent. A higher PIS too. But I don’t want flats.

Since no one else has replied I will try to help. I have used a 26x1.25 specialized fat boy and a 26x1.25 avocet cross. Both of these tires were hard to mount and dismount a 26x1 has to be worse. Avocet tires usually cost $10 dollars more comparable tires and I can't see any reason for it maybe I missed something. A tire needs to be a bit wider than the rim you put it on. On my 700c bike I have used 25mm wide tires actual measurement on a 22mm wide rim without any problem.

mainy I want low rolling resistance and no flats. I can live with 1.25 too. I do hate getting a tire that is a ***** to get on and off though.

I've had nothing but luck with specialized tires, they're the best.
Try running the tires at 5-10psi over max for a few weeks to break it in and stretch the bead so it's easier to get on and off when u have to fix a flat.

I am a huge Specialized fan. I've got 23 cippo pros on the allez,1.5 nimbuss' on the retro. I love the flak jacket all specialized tires come with.

I have fatboys they work great, but getting on and off tires is generally due to the rim not the tire... (not always true) cuase my fatboys go on easy... But try to get anything ona rhynolite... well anyone who owns one knows that im talking about

Specialized have done me well. I have 1.5" Nimbus EX, and 1.95" Hemisphere's. They are awesome. No flats on them yet, and they are not to hard to get on and off.

The FatBoy is an ok tire. I think I still have one that came off of my old RANS V2. If memory serves me right it never flatted. Everyone wants that perfect tire fast, durable long mileage and flatfree. It does not exist. Among the fastest and durable 559 tires is a Specialized Pro 26X1. Faster but less durable is the Schwalbe Stelvio and Hutchenson Top Air Lite. Tires need to be selected by intended use and road conditions. I have the fortune of having excellent roads with few potholes. I can successfuly use most performance tires in the 559/571mm size. I use Schwalbe Marathons or Marathon slicks 1.5 on my 26/20 commuter touring bent. I use high end road tires on my performance recumbent. Primo Racers are fast tire but cut and flat easily. Avocet Cross II have a good reputation. Ask this question at:

You need practice young padawan. :D Rhynolites aren't THAT hard.

Go for the specialized. Less flats. A good tire.
