I've a 127mm steel frame that I'd like to cold-set to 130mm so I can use 9-speed rears. Is a crude spread sufficient, or do the hanger-plates need to be realigned to the frame center-line? Thanks!

Thanks!Assuming it's a steel frame you can just spread by hand and stick the wider hub in and ride it. Realignment isn't necessarily required.
