Way to go Bobby J!
Congrats on a big win!!! Should guarantee you a nice contract for next year!
Hopefully stil with CSC, he really had great support from Voigt and Schleck
Ineradtec,
I edited the thread title, I was waiting till this afternoon to
watch, don't need to now.
Please don't post spoilers in thread titles.

Great display of teamwork from CSC - I'm glad to see Voigt won the points jersey.
From the live commentary feed it looks like Schleck and Zabriskie worked especially hard for Julich too.
Kudos to Bobby & Jens and all of team CSC

Congrat's to 33 year old American Bobby Julich. It is great to see other Americans rocken the Cycling World. He has always been a favorite of mine, so I am happy for him. I can't wait to watch the final two stages that I TVo'ed from OLN.
Yeah, congrats to him. It looks like he had a strong team with him, plus he worked hard for it.
Actually, you're Tivo-ing those last two stages.... the final stages are this afternoon. ;)

Who'd a thunk that an American would be the first to wear the first Pro Tour Leaders Jersey, how cool is that?
and to think he was going to retire a year or so ago

A personal note to OLN: Stop with the tech bits and the pieces on why Discovery was no where to be seen! We get so little cycling coverage. Don't waste it. Just show the damn stage!
Thank you! :)

If any of you ever wanted to know how I look on a moving bicycle, just replay Contador's descent about 5km from the finish when he came unclipped and almost planted a kiss on that light pole. Wow.
Congratulations to Bobby J. Great win.
And if anyone figures out what Jens Voigt eats for breakfast, please let me know.

:roflmao: Anything he wants! Are you going to be the one to tell him "no"? :) But if anyone does find out, let me know too! I sure could have used some of it on my ride this morning.
That was some amazing bike handling by the Spaniard who popped his foot out of the pedal! I think I hit my max HR just watching it.
And while I wish OLN would cut back on the commercials, I have to say that I'm thankful we had coverage on TV. I'm even more thankful that Milan - San Remo will be on next weekend!

That was AMAZING!

good for bobby, but i felt so bad for contador. he was out front until for almost the whole stage, apparently, and it was kind of moving after the comeback from the anurism and everything. oh well, that's part of the sport. Good for Bobby, good for CSC, and a great start of the pro-tour

Yes that is part of the sport. I can remember a few years ago during a big stage race when a rider attacked early and stayed out front over a hundred kilometers solo. As he came within a few kilometers of the finish it was apparent that no one was going to catch him. The stage win was in the bag......until he made a wrong turn.

It would be damn nice if ESPN Sportscenter gave notice to Julich's win. I'll be watching in a half hour or so, but I doubt it'll happen with the NCAA Tournament taking shape and all.
Louisville a #4 seed? Washington a #1? Wha? ;)

Good stuff... it is pretty cool that the first yellow jersey of the pro tour went to him...agreed.

I was naive enough to look through the sports section of the LA Times and any of the local news outlets websites.
The only place I find this info is Velonews or Cyclingnews :(
Funny, the Dallas papers have Cycling results, who'da thunk it.

It was on the Yahoo news portion of the front page of yahoo for a while yesterday. It was tittles: American wins Paris-Nice

Although it wouldn't of made a difference in the GC, if Vinokourov and Contador could have worked together, they could of gone for the stage win. Instead, Contador refused to take a pull (might have been spent) and Vinny spent too much time worrying about the fact that Contador wouldn't take a pull.
As for Contador's miraculous save, that was incredible! I for sure thought he was going to meld to that lightpost

hate to gate-crash with a bit of jingoism, but what happened to Cadel Evans?
EDIT:
Oh, I see -- 8th. Is that good for him?
