Classic & Vintage - Univega arrow pace

Picked up univega arrow pace at bike swap for $40.00 ,wt 24lbs , sakae bars,sakae cranks,araya rims,shimano sis light action shifting componets, dia comp brakes, tange 900 cromo frame made in taiwan.
I ride a 7200fx trek sports hybrid , was going to buy a road bike for around $1000 but i love riding this Univega cant find any info any help ? Is this a quality bike, Thanks Fazmo

Univega is a good brand, although I don't know alot about them (they're Japanese, I think). My ex next-door neighbor had a Panasonic with the Tange 900 tubing and the same spec as your Univega and it was suprizingly light despite the 62cm frame. He let me ride it and it seemed to be very agile and comfortable, a real joy to ride.

I think it would be a good candidate for some modernizing/upgrading if you're so inclined.

I also picked up an Arrow Pace, this one a mixte frame for $15. Suntour derailers, Dia-Comp brakes, a Sugino crank, Vetta saddle, Araya wheels (although I replaced the rear). As much as I love it I keep thinking I should replace the frame with a regular shaped frame, but I'll probably keep it the way it is (with some upgraded components, like aero brakes and a cable-stop bracket to put the shifters on the downtube, already getting new tires, a rack, and hoping for clipless).

These bikes are very light I must say.

I did a lookup of the Suntour front derailer on vintage-trek.com and it is stamped "CB", meaning it was made Febuary 1986. It is VERY nice looking for a 20 year old derailer. The whole bike is.

I love Univegas. I have three, and they're all in different states of worn-in-ness, but all great. They usually have wonderful paint jobs. According to others on the forum most (all?) of their frames were made by Miyata. Great bikes.
