I am a missionary that is needing some excercize. I love to bike and have been looking at several differant types. The recumberant looks to be one I am interested in however the price is WAY out of my ball park. I was wondering if anyone had a bike, or knows of some one, who would like to get out of biking and would be willing to give theirs away. Could you pease contact me if so. Dave
Do you (or a good friend) know how to weld?
Do you have access to steel tubing and bike components?
You might consider building your own.

Yes,,,,,I would suggest building your own,, until you can put the dough together to buy a sleek new one. There are no recumbent freebies that I ve ever heard of, not even for missionaries. They arent that hard to build though,,,and trust me,,you will have an amazing feeling of accomplishment. Just try a 20x20 wheeled dual suspension bike,, from kmart if you must,,then add a boom,,and chaincontrollers,,a seat and steering mechanism. You may want to go with no suspension though,,since the starting materials,,,,,will be free most likely, just be a good scrounger. Lots of bike shops have old stuff they will sell for a pittance,,try the second hand shops and classifieds too. Pawn shops are good for buying lo price used stuff but they wont have a built recum in stock I can tell you. If you really want to do this,, let me know,,just reply here,,and have some stuff to give away myself that will get you started. Just pay the postage and youve got it.
