My picks to win are Forrest and Diego. Too good all around guys. Plus a good wrestler will always beat a good standup guy. But then I'm biased. Spent 6 years in Jr and Sr high on the mat

Josh will probably kick Diego's butt when they fight. Diego doesn't have the skills to get a National wrestling champion, and 4 time all-american in a position where he can submit him. Josh is one tough mofo, and has not shown everything he will when he is challenged. His last fight was almost a joke against Chris who was undefeated going into the fight, and is one tough dude.

Chris let Josh and Bobby get into his head before that fight and he backed off with no aggression. The only reason Chris lost his last fight was from the cut. He pounded the heck out of the other guy but got caught with that forearm to the eyebrow.
I just think Josh is wrestle only. Kevin Randleman was the same way when he started in UFC and didn't make it to the next level until he started working on the all around stuff and now he's a top PRIDE guy. Diego showed in both his fights he can submit a guy and strike at least when they're on the ground. I think he'll be able to catch Josh from a variety of angles and possibly submit him.
The heavyweights haven't really fought enough to get a good feel. The guy who beat Bobby caught a judges break I think. Forrest is just plain psycho. Hopefully the cut won't keep him out. Can't wait until next Monday. I may even pay for the UFC show for the final.
My wife and I went to the UFC and the MGM in Vegas a couple of years ago when Tito Ortiz fought Ken Shamrock. Chuck Liddell fought some guy from England and just dropped him. When you can hear the shots from 40 rows up in an environment that loud, you know they aren't messing around. I'd love to go see another live show again. :beer:

It will be interesting to see what happens. I really liked Chris. At first I thought he was a total ahole, but he sort of grew on me, and I was really rooting for him in both fights. It was a shame he lost that way. I really think that Josh will win against Diego, but he will have to develop more to have a chance in the UFC. Now the interesting fight will be the upcoming pay-for-view when the coaches fight. I have always liked Liddell. He has a great wrestling background, and he is a super striker.
As usual, I can't wait until Monday.

I have to admit to totally underestimating Diego - you were right. I figured he was basically a one trick pony who simply lucked out with two extremely weak grapplers. He is one tough MOFO, and I see him winning big time in the finals. I thought that Josh would easily negate Diego's abilities on the floor with his incredible record as an NCAA champion in one of the toughest weight classes. Hell, Diego almost took him out from the bottom position - I think Josh was saved by the bell in that round.
The heavyweights should be awesome! I wish it was on more than just once a week. I am also enjoying the boxing reality show - incredible fights.

Joshs face looked as bad as I've ever seen after a fight. Never seen so much bruising without lots of blood. Ouch!. The Forrest fight suprised me with how Sam was nailing him with those kicks. Glad he finally took him to the ground.
Stephan has really impressed me in his two fights. Getting out of that choke to submit a guy with a couple of seconds left is pretty impressive. I think I'm changing my pick to him as much as I like Forrest. Saturday should be good on the tube. Ken Shamrock is fighting also. Most of the previously eliminated guys are also fighting on the undercard but not on TV. Should be pretty good.

He was certainly beat up badly! Stephan is very impressive, and I think will take Forrest out on Saturday. I sort of picked him as a crazy man early on, but he seems to have mellowed a bit. That is exactly what I thought would happen at the end of the fight, but I had no idea who won. Actually, I might have given Stephan the slight nod, but probably would have called it a draw. Diego was awesome - suddenly his opponent looked completely overmatched, and coming up in weight made in look out of shape. I'm sure there will be a second season - there must be a monster fan base because this is the only "true" fighting. I'll check out that web site.

Saw a replay of there final episode and matches. All I can say is DAMN! :eek: Forrest and Stephan stole the show with that fight. I gotta hand it to those guys, ultimate fighter and ultimate sportsmanship! That is going to be a match that most other matches will be compared to. I'm glad they both got contracts I'd love to see them fight again someday. DAMN! lol!

I became more and more of a Forest fan as the series progressed - he is such an incredible warrior and free spirit. I was also a big fan of Stephan though, and it was one fight were I wanted them both to win, and they sort of both did.

i totally hate stephan UNTIL that fight with Forrest. I really thought that fight between Stephan and Bobby was a bad decision, and at least should have gone for a final round...but boy did Stephan show his stuff in that final fight!
